| Description | Context:
UX/UI: Editing Survey Questions as an Admin.
Problem:
Right now, when editing a survey question, you have to unfurl the group, click the question, which reveals a "Question summary", then click the "Edit" button at the opposite side of the window to make changes. If you need to make changes to multiple questions, say, retroactively making several questions mandatory, you have to click on the question and travel over to the "Edit" button to make the edit, over and over, which can be tedious.
Suggestion:
Option 1: Add a Global Setting "Edit Question on Click" (or) "Hide Question Summary" which opens the question edit experience on clicking the question in the sidebar, Option 2: Add a "pencil" icon to each question in the question list. Mouse is already there, and reduces travel to "Edit" button.
without the need to click the "Edit" button.
Option 3: Add "Edit Question" to the three dot context menu of each question.
Option 4: (Least favourite option, but even this would help) Move the edit button to the left, so that it's near where the mouse is already.
Summary:
While seemingly trivial, the UI friction is compounded over time. When hopping between questions effectively "closes" the edit experience, the repetitive task of having to click the edit button on the top far side of the window adds up, especially when the survey has many rounds of edits, over many questions. |
