Summary18810: Comfort update stalling on File System Page
Description

I am trying to upgrade from 5.6.17 to 5.6.19 and the Comfort update goes through all the usual steps but then hangs on the file system update page.

I have looked at the developer console and cannot see any errors when running this

How long did you wait? Sometimes the operation takes time.

Did you try two times at least?

I have tried multiple times and once left it "running" for around 20 minutes

I have updated in the manual way for now using the downloaded files so this is no longer an issue for me, I did notice during this process that there were 2 instances of the update.php file in one of the directories ... one with an upper case U and one with a lower case u which is not an issue for Linux but is for windows. One was dated 3/3 and one 4/4 so I am not sure if this had any implication in the comfort update process but until the next release comes along I will not know if my issues have been resolved.

Weird that it would stall tho. Did you have time to click F12 in the browser and check the JS console or the network tab for 500 returns from the server?

I had a look on the developer pages and couldn't see any issues there ... if it happens again I will let you know

@davebostockgmail, did you try to re-run the update? We are facing such issue rather often, see bug report at https://bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=18465
