Summary10294: Annoying info about unstable release available to all users
Description

I think this has been raised as an issue before, and it is perhaps more like a feature request than a bug. Anyway, it bugs me as I get questions about this from my users very often.

The ComfortUpdate should only display the top-liner if user is logged in as superadmin. No other users should see anything about available releases or any other info from ComfortUpdate.

I made a pull request back in December that addresses this:

It uses the $updatenotification variable from application/config/config-defaults.php

Possible values: both, stable, never

Currently the system just ignores these values and shows stable and unstable updates regardless of the configuration.

Do I understand it correct; this is an option which can be tuned in the config file? Then I have to ask why do we need such an option? As an administrator I want to see this message, but an ordinary user should not! Turning the setting to off in config will solve the problem for the ordinary user, but I as admin will not see it, and I want to...
