Summary10060: Comfort update does not complete - Limesurvey non-functional even after manual upgrade afterwards
Description

Hi!

I would like to upgrade from Version 2.05+ Build 150211 to 2.06 (I've got the Comfort update free key).

When I run the comfort update, no key is request and at step 4 it blocks. The admin and surveys pages became blank as in issue 08615.

I've enabled debug and I've found the upgrade steps deleted this files:

Limesurvey_lang.php
php-gettext directory contents
views/update directory contents

Copying this back from a 2.05+ tarball fix it, but the interface language switched from Italian to English, even if I save the language in Global settings.

So, how to procede to upgrade to 2.06 and fix the language back?

It is PHP Version 5.4.45-0+deb7u2

In a limesurvey 2.05+ Build 150211 run the Comfort Update.

2.05 still uses the old ComfortUpdate - so no key required.
Just update manually to 2.06.

This is broken, because everyone tries to upgrade, will find a broken installation.

We tested the update from 2.05 Build 150211 to 2.06 and had no problems.
So it must be something particular to your server/installation, maybe a permission problem when the files were replaced.
Usually a manul update will fix this.

This the reason we introduced the paid ComfortUpdate to be able to provide proper support and testing for future updates so things like this are less likely to happen.
