I can confirm the same problem, I assume the Hoster is a german popular Hosting Company named "Strato" as this Hoster has always the same upper case naming conventions with their databases.

As the Bug was reported on 29th October and is still not fixed, it seems to be a major problem? Can you suggest an older LimeSurvey Release which does not include this bug, so we can get LimeSurvey up and running in the mean time?

Maybe it's of interest: I tried to install an older version (Version 2.00+ Build 131206) and it worked.
Then I tried to update this version via "ComfortUpdate" to the latest version. Unfortunately, it produced an error message.

well, at least it is interesting for me, thanks for testing it. Regarding the error message: Was it the same one as in this bug? "database name has to be lower case" or something?

The programme didn't find the update server, so it seems to be another matter. Maybe this way is a workaround for you. I didn't try to update it manually - please tell, if you try and it works.

Danke für deine Mühe. Unfortunately updating manually is not working in our scenario for $severalreasons. I need the comfort updater to work, looks like I have to be patient until c_schmitz solves this bug.
