Summary20611: New feature to exclude items at quick translation
Description

The quick translation feature is a very useful tool, especially when making use of a Google Translate API key to automatically translate items to different languages. There are some drawbacks though: When using the auto-translation, it always adjusts all items on the current page/tab. But if parts of the translation have already been reviewed by a native speaker, or if there are equation questions, which the auto-translate sometimes messes up, then you need to redo the whole translation process after the auto-translation was done.

This can easily be solved by having a checkbox for every item, which is enabled by default, but offers the ability for the user to disable the translation feature for certain items.

We could try to develop this and provide a pull request. Is this considered a helpful feature? Then we would give it a try.

@c_schmitz, @tibor.pacalat, @DenisChenu, what's your opinion on this feature request?
Code adjustments should only be minor.

@tibor.pacalat, did you have a chance to discuss this internally?
We are happy to contribute this feature to improve LimeSurvey's auto-translate capabilities.

Hi @Mazi, I have tested this and noticed following:

  1. If I manually translate something and leave the other field/s empty -> only empty ones will be translated
  2. If I use html editor -> it translates only the text part and preserves html
  3. If there is a wrong translation (let's say by someone else) -> I can clear the field and it will be translated and preserves the other translations

That being said, I think:
"When using the auto-translation, it always adjusts all items on the current page/tab" -> this claim is false
"If parts of the translation have already been reviewed by a native speaker, or if there are equation questions, which the auto-translate sometimes messes up, then you need to redo the whole translation process after the auto-translation was done." -> this claim is false

Please let me know if I understood something wrong. If I didn't I don't see the need for this feature in these particular situations.
