When using the default statistics tool, there is a setting to define whether text responses for the "other" free text option are shown embedded as a list or are not displayed. If the setting is set to show as a list, all responses are shown inline within the statistics, see attached screenshot. If the feature is switched off, then there is a button which then displays the additional text responses.
This setting is NOT taken into account when selecting PDF as output format. In this case, it does not matter how you set this option, it always lists all the text responses inline. For surveys with many responses, these lists can be very long and can even break export as PDF if there was too much data.
The recommended fix is that the PDF option should also take the "show text responses inline" setting into account. If this is switched off, no text responses should be listed at the PDF export.
