Summary20171: Problem upgrading to 6.15.4
Description

Upgrading to 6.15.4 "fails" with the message

CException
Application runtime path "xxxxxxxxx/application/runtime" is not valid. Please make sure it is a directory writable by the Web server process.

I can't seem to find the runtime directory under application in any previuos version.

As usual, I followed the instructions as stated in
https://www.limesurvey.org/manual/Upgrading_from_a_previous_version/en

Hi @franz007, I think the tmp/runtime folder should be writable. Can you please check that this is correctly set?

Actually there was a permission problem in transferring the files between two servers
The error message confused me because it mentioned the application directory and not the tmp dir
I started over the upgrade process from the beginning one the actual server and it worked
