Summary | 17842: Way to define surveywide static variables (as as opposed to token based hidden question inside the survey)
Description | Way to define surveywide variables without having to create a hidden question inside the survey - {surveyfield:attributex} Allows setting of custom {surveyfield:attributex}, probably in the UI for each survey that could be accessed via expression manager in the usual places (questions, email templates, text areas). Variables could include: Variable name
Additional Information | Use case: a single survey that serves different questions and reports based on hidden variables Current implementation would be to use hidden questions but this leads to a considerable amount of redundant data stored- ie every survey response contains the values of these hidden questions.

mockup needed … You can not ask "I want to do this on a better way than currently" without a clear mockup, step by step etc … Something like {CPBP:ATTRIBUTE} ? Seems not this way :
How settings ? probably in the UI ? How ? Not clear enough … |
|
It might be easier to allow questions/questions groups to be hidden from certain parts of analysis/gui screens or have a special question group to place such variables. Many of us e.g. use the first question group to place all these variables there and place a textscreen inside that group to hide all other questions inside that group. |

Not my feature request. I provide mockups all the time ;-) If you have reached the level mockup, it comes the time of the end-opponent "technical debt and complexity" ;-) https://bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=7367 |

Right, totally right … |
