I think this should be a GUI setting. A very simple text input field with max length = X characters being available at the Global Settings. |

This is mostly about survey design because it also affects survey which make use of answer codes at conditions. Take for example a rating questin with 5 optiins from very good to very bad and you only want to show a comment question "Why did you rate XYZ so bad" if there was a rating of 4 or 5. This will be resolved by new feature "answer option template" in LS4. Please close when implemented. |

Possibly solvable by instead exporting assessment values for answer options, BUT might make survey creation more tedious. |
