Summary13775: File imported from 2.65 to 3.9 and modified, won't work if reimported into 2.65
Description

I tried to help a user in the forum with his survey. The survey was exported from 2.65 by the user and I imported it into 3.9 to check and modify it. My exported file gives error messages when imported into 2.65, as well as 2.72 (my old environment).

Shouldn't the .lss files be backward compatible?

lss can't be totally backward compatible …

Added some fix for Survey, but not for SurveyLanguageSettings : can't know what is updated in future …

The LSS files do have a version number for that reason. However since we don't know how the file will evolve in the future we could only limit the version number to 'current or older' which would make it impossible to import from a newer version though it sometimes still might be possible.

There still an issue : Survey is created, broke without deleting survey

  • We have an empty survey

When importing : we must always delete invalid survey :)
