Summary10297: 2.5 not able to finish the automated installation
Description

I received an automated notice from Softaculous at my professional outsourcer, suggesting to upgrade to Limesurvey 2.5.

After I did the DBbackup of version 2.06+, I did proceed with the button Install Upgrade.

Progression bar = ok

While finishing installation I got a notice saying to call my webmaster because a problem occured...

All the older versions got installed in a snap.

My Outsourcer is working on it. but not solved yet. Any idea?

They will proceed with loading an image of Limesurvey 2.06+ before the Upgrade.

Steps To Reproduce

Symptom:

From public Web, have a look at this link and the message générated... Usually I get the Limesurvey login page...

See the error message in the Informations complémentaires field.

OK, this bug will be corrected in next 2.5 release.
For now, open your database, find the table setting_globals, edit the line 'admintheme' and replace 'greengreen' by 'Sea_Green'

On short-term I have solved my problem by proceeding with a fallback to 2.06+.

Thanks for improving the upgrade process between 2.06+ and 2.5

the bug is corrected. We'll publish a new release today.

By the way, we still didn't provide upgrade from 2.06 to 2.5 via our comfortUpdate because of possible problems. We can publish a stable release, and not publish it as an update. We have good reason to do it.

You'd rather use the limeSurvey comfortUpdate, maintained by the LimeSurvey team, rather than softaculous which is an external application using our RSS feeds as a base for upgrading. Softaculous can't make the difference between a release and an update : that is their responsibility, not our responsibility.
