Description

After migrating from LimeSurvey 5.6.x to LimeSurvey 7.x, some migrated surveys return an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error when a quota is reached and quota_exit is triggered.

The survey works normally until the quota condition is reached.

When the quota is triggered, instead of displaying the configured quota exit message/page, LimeSurvey returns an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

The issue appears to affect surveys migrated from LimeSurvey 5.6.x to LimeSurvey 7.x.

Steps To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use a survey originally created and activated in LimeSurvey 5.6.x.
  2. Migrate/upgrade the LimeSurvey environment to LimeSurvey 7.x.
  3. Use the migrated survey without exporting and reimporting it.
  4. Make sure the survey contains an active quota with a configured quota exit message.
  5. Open the public survey and submit a response that reaches the quota limit.
  6. When the quota is reached and quota_exit is triggered, the survey returns an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

Expected result

When the quota is reached, LimeSurvey should process quota_exit normally and display the configured quota exit message/page.

Actual result

When quota_exit is triggered, LimeSurvey returns an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error and the participant cannot see the configured quota exit message.

Additional observation:
If the affected survey is exported, deleted from LimeSurvey and then imported again, the same survey works normally and quota_exit no longer produces the HTTP 500 error.

This behavior has been observed in multiple migrated surveys, suggesting that the issue may be related to data or configuration retained during the migration from LimeSurvey 5.6.x to LimeSurvey 7.x.
