| Summary | 20357: Provide FIDO2 1/2FA. | ||||
| Description | FIDO2 is the name of the current passkey standard. This involves the user being provided with a key, like TOTP stipulates, but the current implementations don’t involve the user needing to manually duplicate the key, thanks to the WebAuthn library that almost all implementations utilise. Additionally, the standard has been designed such that the user’s credential manager can automatically authenticate the user, even without a username being supplied. | ||||
| Additional Information | Examples of successful implementations exist for GitLab, KeyCloak, Forgejo, Addy, and Discourse. | ||||
