Summary | 17060: Add non-breaking space to list of special characters in text editors
Description | I add non-breaking spaces (& nbsp ;) to questions and other text fields all the time. It is of particular value when writing in French. It takes about 9 clicks or keypresses to do this by switching to source in the editor. If the character were in the list of "special characters", this could be reduced to 2 clicks.
Additional Information | I note, too, that the list of "special characters" displayed includes all the ASCII-7 characters. Of use only if you do not have a keyboard with a Latin-based script, it would nonetheless be exceedingly tedious to try to type anything in a Latin script using this feature. For example, can you imagine translating Greek questions into Portuguese using such a function???? I think the space in the character matrix of special characters could be much better used by including characters that are truly special and not generally found on keyboards.
