Why we need confirm action? For question title? "Edit" and "Save"/"Cancel" must be enough.

I mean a save button, no update without an action. Not a "save and confirm"

It can be a green check just at right of input text.

But user need the ability to cancel is own action.

For simple ation on/off : yes OK.

But don't update a big text with an action :).

For example : don't update equation when user blur out equation :)

Update without action is ok IF we have an undo system, but that's another discussion. Otherwise, sure.
