Summary06380: Error while exporting survey results to Excel
Description

When trying to export results of an active survey to Excel, the following error happens: "can't find the file at http://***/limesurvey/index.php/admin/export/exportresults/surveyid/163696".

Only Excel exports are impacted. CSV, Word and PDF exports seem to work fine.

Please find survey file and csv export in attachment.

Steps To Reproduce
  • create survey, activate
  • take survey (creates one entry)
  • admin screen -> survey -> Responses & Statistics -> Export Results to Application
  • choose Format: Microsoft Excel, then "Export Data"

Hmmm, the file must have been corrupted during upload, I uploaded a new file limesurvey_survey_163696_fixed.lss.

Bu still, the problem is very easy and quick to reproduce, and does not depend on my particular survey.

Sorry, but I cannot reproduce it here. Would you be so kind and instead of attaching the .lss file attach the survey as survey archive (*.zip) ?
Also plesa try to do the same steps you are describing yourself to see if they are really leading to the error described.

Hi, I managed to obtain an error message (see attached file "error.html").
The problem seems to be caused by the location of the temporary file created during export.

PS: I test my Limesurvey installation on my hosted space (and not locally) since that is my target environment. Those kinds of issues would indeed not get noticed with local testing.
