Summary15171: Failure when aborting a survey (with token access)
Description

When a survey is started with an access token and the user aborts the survey ("Abort and delete answers"), the user doesn´t get redirected back to the window where he can enter a token. But instead he get´s redirected to the survey welcome page and starts directly with the already entered token.

--> When the survey gets aborted, the user should be redirected to the page where he can enter a token again.

Steps To Reproduce

Create a survey with a token list. Start the survey and you get asked for a access token. Then click on "Abort and delete answers" - you will start directly on the surveys welcome screen.

When the survey gets aborted, the user should be redirected to the page where he can enter a token again.

It's an opinion, it's like this since year … and we have bug when it's not this …

Hmm, shouldn't the user land on the welcome page once that function is triggered? I am not sure if I understand the advantages/disadvantages.

In my opinion the user should land on the token entry mask - one step before the welcome mask. Perhaps the used token should also be invalid after the step. Otherwise I would expect the function to be called "Restart survey".

Hello @roseplasticHR . The function is called in English "Exit and clear survey". After that, the user gets redirected to a page where he has the possibility to whether click on the restart survey button or not. If "Restart survey" is clicked, then the user lands on the welcome page. I personally do not see any issue with this behavior.

I personally believe that returning to the token page would be a disadvantage because many respondents do not care about filling out the token field again (not to mention that many won't know where to look for the token code, unless it is clearly stated in the email - but still, too many clicks and too much time needed for that).

In case your request is urgent and the behaviour is needed, you may always ask for professional support one of the LimeSurvey authorized partners listed here: https://limesurvey.com .

If you wish to discuss further about your recommendation, please open a feature requests. I will close now this bug report since the software runs as it is supposed to.

Thank you for your comments :) !
