Some of these strings are still in old source files. We will remove them soon.

Would have been great if the new ones would have just be changed in bulk, would have been a lot quicker than seeing a familiar term in the translation tool, searching for it in previous, already translated strings, copy it, add or delete the addition of ?, ! or : and then save it.

I don't know where is the difference. The old ones did not change, new ones were added. Work is the same in the translation tool.

Not sure how you can say it is the same work. If they are one next to the other (which is difficult to do in the translation tool) the time it takes to translate it is half. Because actually it is no translation but just change a ':' for a '!' or similar.

Give it to me in right format and I solve those "translations" in a few minutes. The way it is now it takes me a few hours.

1. Go through the list of new translations and pick one
2. Check in a second browser window if the string or parts of it where already translated before in order to avoid inconsistencies in the translation (by filtering)
3. Use the existing translation for the new one or if no string exists translate it new.

We need it to make as simple for the community to help. For example I felt that I am doing something totally unnecessary. Imagine someone who is not as involved.

I said the work is the same in the translation tool. (meaning translate.limesurvey.org)
I hope at some point the translation tool will have some kind of translation memory to pick up similar strings but currenty it doesn't - so yes, it sucks but it's not like we can change this instantly.

I take this partially back. At least the translation tool is somewhat useful.
Click on 'fuzzy translations' and you will be presented with some of the mentioned strings, not all though.

Fuzzy translations wasn't clear for me either. I found later that some of the translations I had made appeared there. But I think, not sure, they only appear there when you have translated them already. But will give it a try.
