I agree - this is probably the only thing I don't like about LimeSurvey. It is actually very frustrating and I hope it will be changed soon. I have one question/column title that is very long so it looks awful and I have to scroll down a whole page in able to see the results.

Also, when you scroll down the results you can't see the column titles - should be able to freeze the column title line the same way you can in Excel. It is basically impossible for me to browse responses because I don't know what I am looking at, once I scroll away from the title line.

The column title heigth are fixed to 3em, when you hover it, you see the question text. It's a compromzation.

What do you think it's better ?

The fixed header is another FR.

Only the half of the second line of an answer is shown whenever there are two lines (textbox answer) - the cells need to be higher because I only see the tooltip on hover when there are more than two lines.

About the missing column titles when you scroll down the results: Simply freezing the column title line would make it so much better - then when you scroll down the results you still know what you are looking at. Would that be possible? Should I open another feature request?

Also, maybe the column titles could have overflow:scroll or even better overflow:auto or something else, like tooltip on hover, so it doesn't take a lot of space and perhaps also the titles could have vertical-align:bottom - that would help keeping all the column titles close to the results, especially when you got one long title amongst other shorter column titles.

Only the half of the second line of an answer is shown whenever there are two lines (textbox answer) and ?

Where is the limit ? We already have this discussion

For the fixed head : is more hard, we already set some fixed but we remove it after for usuability.
Please : make another Feature Request :) (maybe we can add some affix : 0 somewhere, but table header is more difficult).

Hard to have a really good answer. Can be updated in own admin template.
If user put some text with 100 lines : we need 100 liens ? No, sure. No better decision than other (except Memmo remark https://github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/commit/4a80d96101f0df3b957514409464756ac720a080#commitcomment-5254776

Yes, it is difficult to say just how many lines there should be but I think we can agree that it isn't good that you only see the top half of the second line (whenever there are just two lines of text) because onhover doesn't work when there are just two lines... as it is now you kind of have to guess what the second line is about.

I don't understand why the fixed head was removed, it would be so great (or perhaps you meant that something else that was fixed was removed again??). Anyhow, I won't derail this Feature Request so maybe I will open another FR :)

Not really a fixed head, other problems.

But looking at your screen : i think we must have a min-width/max-width for table cell.

Concerning fixed headers: Here is an example of how it could be a little more userfriendly as Sweden suggests.

pmonstad : we use jqgrid actually : must be on jqgrid.

Seem have a solution here :http://www.trirand.com/blog/?page_id=393/feature-request/fixed-column-and-header#p26582

And better : set the heigth according to screen max-heigth : http://www.trirand.com/jqgridwiki/doku.php?id=wiki:options
