Summary06273: Option Show X Questions unchangeable
DescriptionIf you let the survey admin choose if s/he wants to display "There are X questions in this survey", the admin can choose, but the answer always come back to "Yes".

In the database (table lime_surveys), the 'showXquestions' is set to 'N', but in the display, it is set to 'Yes' -- and the number of questions is displayed for the user.
Steps To ReproduceIn the global configuration, let the administrator choose this parameter. For a particular survey, choose 'No' and Save. Go back to this parameter: it is 'Yes' again (tested on 2 different servers).

I can't reproduce this. I tried every combination of the global admin presentation option for 'Show "There are X questions in this survey', and matching the survey-specific 'Presentation & navigation" option, and in each case, it worked exactly as expected.

Any chance you manually changed your database?

Can you attach screen shots of the configuration that causes the problem as well as the survey itself?

OK, I tested again... same result. Here are some more points:

- my surveys are in French (something to check, here?)
- I haven't manually edited the database
- if I select 'Yes', then 'No' in the parameters, the database is correctly adapted, but the parameters displayed are always set to 'Yes' -- and of course, during the survey, the number of questions is displayed in the welcome screen

Could it be a problem with the files' rights? On one of the servers, I set 'chmod 666' for all the files, without change.

HTH,
Greg

Greg-
Can you try a fresh install without changing the files' rights and see if you continue to see the problem?

OK, I installed a fresh version on my computer (localhost), and the problem doesn't exist. Do you think it could be due to the (many) updates and upgrades I made on my servers?

I'll try delete all files and put fresh ones -- but in some days: there are running surveys.

Thanks,
Greg

I also can't reproduce this problem.

As a workaround: Create a copy of your template and remove the {THEREAREXQUESTIONS} placeholder from the welcome.pstpl file.
Then assign the template copy to your survey.

I'm closing this one. Feel free to re-open the ticket if you can reproduce the problem at our demo:
