As for the showing of 3 participants to be added, if you select no participants and if there is no search done , it assumes that you want copy all the participants and that is why is shows 3 participants . Increase size of dialog box so user don't have to scroll. |
Well, I'm not sure if the application should "assume" what the users wants to do?! We should make the GUI more clear:

I've increased the size of the dialog box/adjusted the text and position of the "checkbox" so that there is no scrolling required. I'm having a think about how to manage the GUI aspect for selecting users. The intention (i remember discusssing this) was that if you wanted to add ALL participants you should be able to. There are three possible scenarios to add participants to a survey. 1) You want to add all your participants to a survey Options 2 and 3, I would think, are the most likely scenarios. You might do a search for all people living in a certain city. Then choose to add them to a survey. If we want to simplify the GUI, then we could possibly remove options from the three selections. If we consider that the "total" number of participants displayed in the grid is the default choice of a user, then we can remove the "Add all participants" option. Simply assume that if noone is selected the user expects to add all users in the current selection/search (even if there is none) to the survey. If items are ticked, the the user wants to add those ticked people. I agree that the options are confusing, and by removing the checkbox the GUI will simply be adding either everyone in the current list, or just the selected people - this will be intuitive, and will simplify the box. Sound OK? If so, I'll get onto this. |
Sounds good, we should just place a note somewhere regarding "Simply assume that if noone is selected the user expects to add all users". |
