Summary04701: LS keeps inserting spaces in my help fields
Description

Every time I come back to a question and edit it again, the empty help field gets filled with a space. You might think that would be innocuous, but unfortunately having a truly empty help field is critical if I don't want it to take up vertical whitespace, which is important for my application.

Steps To Reproduce

Create a question with an empty help field. Save. Edit the question again. Note that the help field contains a space.

It contains a linebreak
but if you look on the table questions directly you will noticed that it gets filtered on save - at least it does here.
So it cannot be displayed. Have you checked the HTML source on the displayed page and see if there is really a space?

My "Help" field contains the character entity for a non-breaking space: " " that is regenerated every time I edit it. It is displayed as a regular (breaking) space within the

pair. If I explicitly delete it and save the item again, it does not show up at all.

Weird, what browser are you using?

Safari 5, but observed also with Chrome on MacOS. Hard to imagine this being a browser issue, though.

I can confirm that it is a browser issue, Chrome and Safari insert a non-breaking space instead of a linebreak.
