XMLWriter does not seem to be standard in all PHP configurations. Maybe we should add some error checking and a nice error message pointing someone in the right direction.

1. I can export a survey but it really takes some time using the 1.80 sample survey. Maybe you run into a timeout? I can open the exported file without having problems.

2. Opening exported groups or questions also works fine.

Maybe we should output a note if XML Writer is missing? Carsten, what do you think?

1. Exporting is instant in my install. Did you use lastest svn? I did a fix the other day to speed up export, if you can confirm that it does speed up it would be great :)

I was thinking to replace the instantiation of the xmlwriter with a helper function so we can easily change the error message. I don't really know what to write there but I will start with telling what is wrong :)
I'll put everything in place. If Carsten decides otherwise I just remove the error message :)

@Evan, I did a patch to show an error message if the xmlwriter class is not compiled into php but I can not test to verify that it works. Could you please update to latest svn and check to see if it works or needs some extra work?

Hi mdekker. Somehow I've killed my MySQL server and I'm away for a week so won't be able to test until I get back to work (Wednesday 28 July) or get my MySQL server up and running again. Very sorry. (on the up side I now have a baby daughter :) )
